The Black Hills Power W.N. Clark Plant was the second of four (4) power plants that were awarded to Independence Demolition. All (4) plants included complete environmental decommissioning, demolition, removal and site restoration.
This site specifically included demolition of approximately 3,500 GT of structures and equipment including (2) steel stacks, on-site railroad tracks, foundations, site paving and the substation associated with the plant. The environmental scope of work included asbestos abatement, cleanup of (2) baghouses, removal of all universal wastes and fly ash / coal residuals, lead and mercury abatement, PCB soil removal, and draining of all oils. Final site restoration included cut/fill of 5,000 cubic yards of dirt, grading, topsoil re-spread and seeding.
